On the firing line, by Louis Prefontaine

"I'll make you lose your job." Another missed test by the child, another round of telephone threats from the mother. Tania scoop. Again. When teaching in classes for immigrants, we must know the only truly useful thing: the other is always right. Not you, not your country, not your safety rules, your secularism, your gender equality. No. While it takes the edge when you are dealing with a minority of fundamentalists who, like this fanatical denying the rules of his school, seeking to undermine the foundation of our rule of law while scurrying to make life unbearable to those who try to help.
Tania has taught one year at this elementary school northeast of town, specializes in the integration of newcomers. She could continue, but it was too difficult emotionally. Worse, he has shed his assessment with a score of zero to five levels of ethics and accusations of racism from the director and his assistant. Her crime? Wanting to teach geography to a child, having expressed his failures and his parents have asked her shoes running shoes during physical education.
"Toronto is in Lebanon, my dad told me, no no no you're a liar!" throwing the young veiled girl eleven years with his teacher in the middle class. Tania showed him the world map, he pointed Toronto, then Lebanon. "No, not in Lebanon, Toronto. Your father may have been mistaken." No, Tania, her father was right. Muslim Dad is always right. You should know. And so the next day he landed in your class, the lunch hour, violating the most elementary rules of the school, to insult you, call you a racist, and you t'invectiver threatening.
Shortly after that, a trip to Lebanon to eight weeks for the little girl. When she returned, she took a long delay, so that its results were not up to his classmates. Meeting with parents and the director. The diagnosis? No, the little one has no delay, no she has nothing to learn. It is you, Tania, the racist, nasty feminist who wants to learn the ideas of liberation of women to her child, so says a hysterical mother, a Canadian Halifax converted to the virtues of submission to the husband and soft body. The director asks you out, and nothing will ever be the same between you and him thereafter. His confidence, you had lost.
Months passed, with insults bi-weekly inexorably following each test, each failure of a girl who was taught that the world is what Papa-Muslim said he is. One day, the physical education teacher called Tania and told him about the child: "it does not remove his boots, because she said it was wrong that could see his ankles." Tania reassured the little girl told him that Allah does not punish, it was simply putting his running shoes and playing with his friends. She eventually convince her, but at what price? The next day she was again summoned to the principal's office, where she gets insulted again, where his own superior told her she should have accepted the girl involved in the activities below (even though this is extremely dangerous and contrary Regulation). Literally, he said: "between school rules and rules of the religion of man, what are the rules of religion gentleman who must prevail". And that's what happened thereafter, thank you to the repeated threats of prosecution from the sad individual.
How were you dictated returned with a large "X", Tania, because they were referring to Christmas or Easter? How many times have you had to adapt yourself just to survive here in your own country, where you should just be an example to newcomers?
At the end of the year, rather than having defended his professor, the director and his assistant, a Lebanese origin, decided to get rid of it as best they could. At the School of immigrants, Tania, yet she was the daughter of an Italian immigrant, had not understand the basic lesson: in Quebec, are immigrants who make the law and our rules do not apply that 'to those unfortunate enough to be white and French. The others, they released the insult of racism, they appeal to the virtues of multiculturalism, they call their lawyers, they are based on the Charter of Rights and Freedoms to impose their rights and freedoms.
Yet "there, there are so many nice people," says Tania. I think it's flat, because every time we talk about it with stories about completely stupid. The nice ladies who send you of baklava, that we do not remember." The problem, it is precisely there: nice people and bad people, confused, violent, psychotic, exist in every culture in every nation. In Quebec, however, just one of those fanatics are using ethnic status to which he immediately gives a semblance of credibility. If you're white and francophone and you act this way, we'll put you outside the school, call the police, call the DPJ, and take you to the position you pursue. If you come from elsewhere, we will let you make the name of multiculturalism, in the name of reasonable accommodation on behalf of the understanding.
Like it or not, it is a war. A fight between our values, our conceptions of space and public freedoms, and those unscrupulous individuals who believe they can use our openness against us, who sink our doors open and then occupy our homes. And in this war on this front, there are people like Tania, who, if she dropped the education of children, however, continues to learn our language and culture to immigrants and adults involved, by taking balls hate every day to improve our society and to promote greater cohesion in the respect of our common values. Tania is a heroine in her own way in the trenches of multiculturalism, the weapon of our carelessness in hand.
And so we finally decided to support it, respect those who, like her work to the integration of immigrants? If we finally said, loudly, that our values and our culture are not negotiable, as our law applies to everyone and we do not have to suffer the insults of those who refuse? If anyone dared to require newcomers to respect our institutions and those working to help them achieve in our house every day?
For if we do not at the level of integration by daring to impose our values, we will have to act in the number of immigrants to receive. And that's a different debate. Necessary, but oh how much more difficult to accept for the apostles of multiculturalism which has accumulated failures as Quebecers medals at the last Olympics. Until then, thank you Tanya, and good luck.

Open Letter to Richard Martineau, by Francis Chartrand

Hello Mr. Martineau
I send you this comment after your column last Saturday December 18th "Meanwhile, in the PQ". I am a blogger and a few times. I publish some of your columns that I appreciate. I'd be lying if I say that you did not your politics. Continue to disturb. I like that.
I appeared in federal elections in January 2006 for the NDP in Rivière-des-Mille-Îles. But December 16, 2007, when they were preparing to prepare for the federal elections of 2008, I learned through the newspapers (Toronto by the way) I was cursed out together with Micheline Montreuil.
Why? It took me time to learn, but the reason for my ouster was because I was against the reasonable religious accommodations. Despite the claims of certain cultural communities, they called me a racist, fascist bastard, and some members of the NDP had said that my mother should had an abortion instead of giving me life.
Instead of staying with those partisans while kissing their fucking ass while they vomited on me and my supporters, I took an independent position, where I became a fervent supporter secular fighting religious fanaticism as I can . I moved from left to right, somehow. And I prefer doing that too much to do anything.
I was recently called intolerant, as sometimes people are treated and piss in their pants. When it comes to qualifying I thank the people from my heart, because I do not tolerate the idiocy of S'A flat belly in bullshit, that cultural communities themselves condemn. Am I a racist? If yes, too bad for you, good for me, my skin is not free, and it will make total war for my skin.
A few weeks ago, you asked if there was someone, somewhere close to get a secular political party, although I rode a horse, and started to raise awareness more than 450 children, only in 2009 in Two Mountains and St. Eustatius in my basement of Two Mountains against the evils of multiculturalism and tolerance of other religion. I do not teach them that they are superior as whites but they are not inferior as a visible majority.
I also inform parents of various misdeeds during the RCT as a tactic to make us slaves as whites. I teach them to tolerate as much that we (Quebec strain) are tolerated in our fair value. Many blacks have attended my identity workshops, they were "born again", they became atheists.
That's what I do, and I do it with passion. Instead of the multiculturalists re-educate our children in Quebec, I even to teach Muslim veil hanging in the wardrobe, and I even teach the guitar. So we have in Saint-Eustache some sexy and beautiful Moroccan teenage girls unveiled, who play Paul Piché drinking alcohol on St. John, some sexy and beautiful Algerian teenage girls unveiled, who play April Wine on Canada Day in very short denim shorts.
My girlfriend and I, we have the same passion, we unmulticulturalise, and we love it. And we are aware that culture and religion is not the same thing.
But a tragedy happened at 2 weeks of Christmas. A mother contacted me from Boisbriand December 14. She authorized me to publish his name on the net as well as newspapers, Marie-Claude Langlois, 32. Her 9 year old girl has been chosen by his teacher (they have derived its name from a random pot inscribing his name on a piece of paper) to an activity during the RCT. This activity is to convert to Islam. An imam was waiting in the hallway of the school and was converted (the confession she was serious, only he knows) the girl in question. The teacher wanted her students to impose the Islamic faith without talking to the mother or her spouse.
When she returned home, she wore the hijab. An imam is supposed to come home on Wednesday to convert them (forcibly?), without their consent. She contacted the teacher in question and she said that this experience was for a period of 4 months, as what she will became back Catholic later. The school sells them as a family to Islam. They said that if she ever dared to remove her daughter from this project, the DPJ was intervening. What a great achievement that the RCT course!
One of my friends, Mathieu Arnaud was at Ahuntsic Park on the sidewalk I was talking hockey with one of his buddies. Disappointed by the performance of Carey Price, he released a coronation, a simple "Osti".
A Muslim with a long black beard in his fifties, sitting on a park bench not far away stood up and went to complain to a police patrol was nearby.
The police has arrested, they stopped walking if they don't want be shot. The police immediately called their papers, and issued a ticket for having issued a coronation or blasphemy or foul language; $ 75 each.
They have however said they were 2 students from Cégep Ahuntsic, 2 consenting adults, talking about the game of hockey before, the Muslim has dealt with "miscreants" to "mangy dog", to "Canadians badly educated" the policewoman gave him reason, but Matthew and his friend had no right to say softly: "Osti que la game était plate".
Meanwhile, while the policewoman had their backs turned to her 4 cars, 2 blacks were exchanged for drugs. Mathieu said what happens, she deals with racism, and gave him another ticket for racist remarks. The Muslim, meanwhile, asked why we Quebecers, whenever we see members of streets, shouting that is drug trade.
What a jerk!
Of course they will deny, and they went to SOS Ticket. If they should ever go to court, their families will support them.
Mathieu has Rouyn-Noranda. La police chez lui n'écoeure pas personne, pas plus que les immigrés. Police ever there is not shooting shit on nobody, even not immigrants. Why all those in Montreal who are white, they are treated worse than dogs on a leash? True, Richard, what have we did to God, Buddha, Allah, Krishna, Jehovah, etc..?
He still have a session at College Ahuntsic. After that he went to study at UQAB (University of Quebec in Abitibi Témiscamingue).
Without doubt, and unfortunately for some Montrealers (25% of the people he has known here) which were fun, he never wants to come back here. The remaining 75% were treated for almost 2 years as a resident, a peasant or a nasty racist.
Injury, like him, I thought Montreal was civilized.
A 13 year old at École Liberté-Jeunesse, at Ste-Marthe-sur-le-lac, a teenager which I teach English-speaking Canada music, has been withholding because of a Muslim substitute. While it is a free period during the course of science, he made a drawing class in the solar system, and combines planets to professors he jokes.
He combines Saturn and Jupiter to 2 corpulent teachers, Venus to a lovely teacher of 23 years old, but Pluto, to the Muslim substitute in question, while the latter felt away as Pluto, arguing that the young wanted her outside of school or country. Il passera en janvier au conseil disciplinaire de l'école pour avoir tenu une comparaison discriminatoire raciale. He will spent January to disciplinary board of the school for having a discriminatory racial comparison.
Do you understand me, Richard? Do you understand the identity right? Do you understand Hérouxville? I am accused of selling to people under 15 some copies of swastikas, and copies of Mein Kemp, while Mein Kemp is consumed only when people are 16 or 18 years. It's less violent than the Bible, the Koran and the Torah, but it is frowned to read to children, so I read it for young adults.
Publish what you want, I continue my political actions, and I'll take away the most children as possible from the clutches of multiculturalism.
Merry Christmas,
Sincerely,
Francis Chartrand

Multiculturalism, "hybridization", "cultural hybridity", a new theoretical illusion in the social sciences, by Francis Chartrand

We mention below some excerpts of a text by Pierre-Andre Taguieff, research director at CNRS.
Hope elites, fear of the masses
We know that globalization is a complex global process whose first characteristic is to accelerate exchange, transfers and mixtures, and thus to undermine the substantial collective identities, making them unstable and temporary, fueling fears and uncertainties territorially in the masses, and gives rise to hope in the world of transnational elites.
[...]
The magic word miscegenation
The speech of praise globalization or globalization, ignoring the growing anxiety caused by the dissolution of social institutions and national specificities, foregrounds these supposed positive characteristics that seem healthy to oppose racist attitudes of rejection racial mixtures, reification of collective identities and closing exchanges between cultures or "dialogue of civilizations." The globalizers happy to see an overall advancement of tolerance and "openness to the other, the promise of a universal rapid reciprocal listening cultures, processes that ordinarily renowned as "rewarding".
The positive assessment of the phenomena of cultural syncretism has increased among theorists of globalization using the metaphor of "hybridity" of the "hybridization" or "miscegenation" (Clifford, 1994; Pieterse, 1995 ; Werbner, 2004). Idea seemed simple, even light: globalization is a "hybrid", it would be in itself a racist mechanism, in that it tends to remove the specter of miscegenation that form the core of modern racist thought in same time it would erase the ethno-racial entities improperly erected in absolute or a species-time.
[...]
Hybridity valued at extreme
Hybridity is so valued in the extreme, as human experience, method of invention and creation, and also as a lifestyle characterized by its "wealth" and "openness". That suggests that there is "mixed" is the highest form of human existence. The "blend", metaphorically general, tends to be a method hello. The word "miscegenation" itself is a magic value: it is invoked as a driving force.
Simplistic metaphors racialising
The metaphors chosen and indefinitely sought by critics, sociologists and anthropologists have all the connotations biologizing or racialist "mixture", "crossing", "hybridization" or "hybridity", "miscegenation". They presuppose the existence of a first or original state, a state of non-judged blend happily exceeded (this is even a "progress"), characterized by the "purity" of the entities in question (the "race" to "culture" through the "ethnicity"). A state of nature, we can say "wild" that animal husbandry and horticulture were the first eliminated by breeding techniques voluntary "races" and "varieties, and the practice of a controlled cross. As shown by Robert Young (1995), uses the concept of cultural hybridity presupposes the existence of a cultural past that is "pure", something like a state of natural culture, without mixtures. Sociologist and political scientist Stuart Hall argued against such use of the term hybridity in that it refers to a "process of bringing together cultures initially autonomous unit which would then be combined to give rise to hybridization "(Hall, 2009, p. 29). Despite intentions "racist" declared their users, these metaphors mixtures racialisent what they refer.
[...]
Postmodern myth of mestizo beauty
Mixophile discourse presupposes the existence of "races", to "cash" or "cultures" originally "pure" first state that would virtually "passed" by the state resulting mixtures, alloys or amalgams. In the contemporary praise the "beauty of the mestizo (Hocquenghem, 1979) refers the echo of that of" race "the most beautiful," Caucasian "as Blumenbach (1795 and 1804), expressing a the obvious aesthetic of his time (Bindman, 2002, pp. 190-201; Baum, 2006, pp. 73-92). The aesthetic ideal is certainly now quite different: the beauty of the mythical "pure races" has given way to the mythical beauty of "mestizos". But in the celebration of the mixture or mixed it receives remanence uncontrolled old fascination with pure or homogeneous. In praise of impurity echoes that of purity. An echo is an echo reversed.
[...]
From mixophilie to Francophobia and self-hatred
In his book in praise of "mestizos" Hocquenghem marie denunciation of homophobia to Francophobia assumed, as evidenced from the subtitle of his pamphlet: "Reflections of a Francophobe. Explicitly linked or not to a form of sociocentrism negative or inverted patriotism (philoxenia), praises the "progressives" of the "France Métis" were commonplace in the 1980s. Thus Jacques Chirac, during a trip to the Caribbean, saw fit to launch his audience supposedly "crossed": "We are all mestizos" (quoted by Le Monde, September 15, 1987). Using the rhetoric of unanimity is an expensive form of collusion at all demagogues. Two anti-racist slogans, posing as mixophiles definitions of the French nation, have been widely broadcast during the second "March for Equality" (1984): "France is like a moped. To move forward, he must blend of "Super, France march in the mixture (Taguieff, 1988, p. 381). The French anti-racism, hitherto blind to color in the name of egalitarian universalism of republican tradition, has evolved into an anti-racism mixophile advocated miscegenation as a standard major (Taguieff, 1995, pp. 53-81). But there are mixing and blending. Ideally mixophile was actually set on the type of mixed race White / Black, incarnating par excellence in the face of the Afro-American (or "too black" or too "white").
[...]
Some have ventured to include President Sarkozy in the circle of miscegenation happy, describing it as "a little French blood mingled. But the absence of "African roots" now appears to be a handicap, at least in the media space dominated by the standards of pop-ethics of "miscegenation".
[...]
Praise naive fusion redeeming reason Métis
But in many contemporary authors celebrate cultural hybridization, we found a rather naive praise of redeeming the merger and a merger by stealth, which often takes the shape of a eulogy of creative confusion. Measured in his analysis, Stuart Hall advanced the proposition that "cultural hybridity" is changing British society in a positive way: the simple fact that a process of mixing affects cultural production leads him by the British company to reflect on the fact that it is not culturally homogeneous (Hall, 1995). This would be a "progress". Other theorists mixophiles less cautious ahead of the hi "heterogeneity mestizo," where they think they see an output of "continuous reconstruction" (Nuss, 2002, p. 111).
We can go further in the neo-religion of redemptive miscegenation. Some anthropologists militants, followers of "the image blend of Magic" (Cunin, 2001), calling for the adoption of a "reason mestizo (Amselle, 1990), leave to withdraw a few years later the" fantasy "or the "trap" of miscegenation (Amselle, 1999 and 2000).
[...¸]
Behind the scenes: cosmopolitanism, a source of anguish
Behind the scenes "crossed" is that these cities "cosmopolitan" is an inexhaustible source of fears or anxieties, fueling a "paranoia mixophobique" (Bauman, 2007, p. 119). And products "mixed race" are part of the decor companies globalized market: the new "cosmopolitanism merchant" is a high consumption, especially because of its effects "sleeping" or "tranquilizers" (Canclini, 2000a), hybridity in his speech advertising in bars and trendy restaurants ( "hybrid") in its cultural industries (the "hybrid music" are everywhere) (Hutnyk, 2005).
[...]
The mixing product uniformity and conformity
Hence the paradoxical result: it is through the global spread of normative cultural hybridity that is made a cultural homogeneity that does not meet very little resistance. Hybridization is the global juggernaut that produces homogenization and leveling of cultures, the final abolition of cultural diversity. Opposes the hybridization process supposedly "progressive" if the big concepts of identity or cultural difference, disqualified for "racism", "nationalism", "essentialism" or "communalism"? The battle seems lost. What is certain is that in this world "crossed" in perpetual motion, the new elites' hybrid and transnational, and mobile deterritorialised "nomads" without definable identity, are like fish in water (Spivak , 1999). This world is made for them, not for the people attached to their languages, their landscapes, traditions. Their celebrations are surinvités professional media, with the implicit ideology which they are ill. The speech of praise exchanges, and mixtures of perpetual change is reputed to be "modern", that is to say current and contemporary, therefore inherently good. This is an expression of intellectual conformism of our time (Taguieff, 2007, pp. 595-620).
Miscegenatry speechless at the refusal of cultural hybridity
Moreover, the racist who had converted to the religion of "cultural hybridity" are speechless before certain forms characterized by "denial of cultural hybridity, for example Muslim women in many European countries (including France and Great Britain). How to interpret this rejection of normative mixophile supposed seductive, especially for Muslim women?
[...]
Advertising discourse and conceptual poverty sociologists
The epistemological lesson we can draw from such an over-employment of contemporary vocabulary of "crossing" and "mixed" (the "mixed" and "diversity" to "blend" and the "hybridity") overemployment which brings out a tongue of wood used by the celebrations of globalization as input in a brighter era is that the metaphorical uses of words in the attractive economic situation does not replace the difficult conceptual elaborations, or the patient building of models theoretical assumptions rebuttable. The language of advertising, it must be remembered, should not be confused with the constructed language of scientific knowledge. If it should not "take the straw words to the grain of things" (Leibniz), do not take the sparkle of metaphors for scientific theorizing. The "crosses" to "connections" through the "hybridization" and "mixing" does not attend it not a vain display of misleading metaphors, unthought, dangerous effects of uncontrolled senses, expressing impotence conceptual sociologists and anthropologists face the consequences of cultural globalization?
