The dignity of the believer: An illusion?, by Tania Tokarski

The dignity of the believer:
An illusion?

Some movies show the human misery, The Passion of Christ and Spartacus to name a few. They remind me of that period, shortly before the end of the Roman Empire, the Romans threw the Christians in the Colosseum to feed the lions. Not only are these traitors in Rome continued to defy the order and with their beliefs, despite their plight, but more and more fans subscribed to their religion. "Religious belief is it a consolation for the weak?" The sick, the poor and unfortunate they drew their courage against Rome with a promise of a better world after death? Even today, many people continued to keep the faith when everything goes wrong. Well, I think, as Dr. Sigmund Freud, that religion is a fiction drawn from the mind of a group that wants to better live the harsh reality. Religion is a sedative, it can not be reality.
First, Freud explains the purpose of religion:

"Human beings working together in large numbers to ensure happiness and protection against suffering through a fanciful distortion of reality. But the religions of mankind must be regarded as collective delusions of this kind." (The concepts of human being, p. 74)

Indeed, when everything goes wrong, the man thinks about God, her protective father, and the joy he will experience when he joins. Freud explains that there are three types of sedatives which are used to reduce human suffering: strong diversions such as work, the subjective satisfactions that might be the practice of an art and drugs that affect the body chemistry (morphine, etc..) Religion is in one of these categories. It explained the reason for the existence of human, because it would be untenable to think that the only purpose of existence is survival. The human, after all, sucking the happiness and ways to achieve this are, first, to find more sources of enjoyment possible (eg a family, learning to play an instrument) and secondly, reduce the sources of discontent by the use of sedatives, named above. After all, in the words of Freud, to think that our existence is protected by a father that no one sees can only dream of "children" in need of consolation. For this purpose, religion can not be anything but a consolation for the weak.

However, John Paul II has a different opinion. The teachings of the Bible hold the truth. The Bible can not be fiction as it brings wisdom. The wisdom it speaks introduces the concepts of "human dignity" and "pity" and "equality." The human being is worthy, because God has willed for itself. A responsible person can not be weak. According to the Bible, there exists no weak or strong, because all men are equal before God. The human being is worthy and his ability to think for himself he was left, making sure he can use his intelligence to good or bad choices and travel to learn and exploit its potential. The Bible also reveals that human beings have been created in respect of life. Thus, it mentions solidarity, communication to each other and give what belongs to him, because "God has created in his image." For all these reasons, it can not be weak and religion could not be fictional. Finally, religion is no consolation for the weak as it is one explanation of the mystery of life. Just as valid as the theory of evolution, it remains inécartable.

Now, what concept is most valid? Make a brief return. Freud believed that religion is a sedative for humans, who did not experience the difficulties that life offered him. Man is created a "chimera" collective, ie, religion. It would be a comfort to him. The consequence it (the vision of Freud) results, in my opinion, is good: it encourages the subject to become aware of the means available to it to be happy (ie to find a better job) rather than joining a religious group (which encourages more sharing of experiences as the action on the problem.) However, the ideology of John Paul II is also attractive: all men are equal before God, there is no strong or low. Religion is not a consolation, she teaches the virtues of selflessness, equality and respect for life. It is not fiction, because it is one explanation for the purpose of life. To this end, it brings great value to humans in addition to the hope of life after death. When I think back to what has made the great religions, like Christianity, I integrate the theory of John Paul II. Religion is no consolation for the weak, because it brought about many times. When Rome fell, the Christians have built a new order. Charity to the poor is born of religion (selflessness). Schools, hospitals and other public institutions also started bridge with religion. After these achievements, it would be unfair to compare the weak believers. Persons who perform such great and beautiful things as well as education, health care and public charity (an ancestor of welfare) can not but be strong.

In conclusion, I am, after all, agree with Freud who think religion is a sedative for the people. Religion provides the contrary, explanations of the mysteries of life. It sends fine values and social systems parties such as schools, hospitals and charity. Of course, the religious zeal has had unfortunate consequences, including the genocide of Native Americans or the enslavement of Africans. However, properly used, maybe that religious beliefs could restore hope and zest for life to suicide, often atheists, Quebec. Our statistics on suicide seem to correspond well with the release of religion from our government. Now, if a new religion should be adopted that would best meet the human needs? Christianity, Buddhism or any new religion approaching agnosticism? One day will we know perhaps.

Burning Qur'an, by Francis Chartrand

Burning Qur'an, it was worth it really worth it?

Yeah, why burn Qur'an? It does only add fuel to the fire, in the case to say, fire. It goes only to spread hatred altogether useless. But, needless spread of hatred? While these days, we'll hang a woman in Iran because she has slept with a man outside of marriage?

Burning Qur'an, but why? This week, everyone took the pastor of Florida, Terry Jones, a fool because he wanted to make a bonfire in his own way to burn Qur'an on the morning of Sept. 11, to meet hatred of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, allegedly by Muslim fanatics. Let's play devil's advocate for a brief moment.

How many books have been burned by the Nazis? Nobody knows. How many Bibles have been burned by the Romans? Nobody knows. How manuscripts of Maya and Incas were destroyed by Spanish Conquistadors? Nobody knows.

They say that they are Muslims who have returned to the Twin Towers, as they say the fact that ten million American Indians were exterminated by the big bad Canadian who wanted to Christianize the Aboriginal people during 20th century, dis we burn the Bible? No, the Indians in both Canada and Peru have converted to Christianity, they are pretty weak for that and it's not my problem.

But the Canadian Indians, themselves, leave religion more and more, the better since they follow the whites, but it is foolish to think that the Gang of 18 of Toronto was to convert Aboriginal people to Islam, since there is not a single mosque in any country's reserve. Let us recall the Chief of the Gang of 18 in Toronto who wanted to bomb CN Tower would also to convert to Islam the Aboriginal people to massacre Quebecers.

No, do not burn the Qur'an, it would be cowardly. Rather convert Muslims to, say, rather, apostasy. Imagine: each morning of September 11, we do a ceremony where more than ten thousand Muslims in North America, leave Islam, on Fox News or CNN or RDI. Imagine: ten thousand Muslims at least, perhaps twenty thousand, year after year leave Islam, or choose Christianity or Judaism as another religion or become simply atheists.

Yes, we must fight fire with fire. Let's not try to parley with those who threatened us this week. Let's not play to 'My religion is better than yours', rather to play 'You really think that only Christians défroquent? Well no, and here's the proof.'

What? They try to convert us very well in Canada, let's do the same thing, they want us dechristianize, let's deislamize them. That's it. The ace of spades to the ace of clubs, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. It's not even revenge, is simply put the record straight. We, Westerners, we are not superior to Muslims, but we are not inferior either.

Had we not emptied our churches? Let's help them to empty their mosques. Once defrocked, these deislamized Muslims will thank us. 'I'm as big as God and God is as small as me.' Do not worry, I only target Islamists.

I do not care about Islam, by Anne Humphreys

Me, Islam, I don't care ...

I brace of hadith, sura and other coraneries.

I do not care whether Muslims are not really Islamic, but some Islamic frequentable moderate Islamists, the immoderate frankly Semites, more or less devout Muslim, etc., etc..

What is at stake today is simple, much simpler: Quebec was colonized by people from diverse backgrounds, there is a destruction of our civilization, and by other cultures that are alien, contrary to our customs our worldviews and man, our values, our habits, our history ...

What nation would accept it without flinching? So the message is simple: these alien cultures, we do not want! We do not want their religion they do not want their values, we do not want their habits, we do not want their world view. We do not want Quebec to become a third world country. We do not want these imported values settled in Quebec and is changing our lives and our future. We do not want the Chinese mafia who cut the recalcitrant chopper ...

We do not want Africans polygamous circumcise their daughters, secu pump and social support, benefit from the system without bringing anything, We do not want mackerel Romanian, Albanian and African place on the sidewalk and little girls break their legs at once with an iron bar if they move an eyelash ...

We do not want the true-false beggars or I do not know what that shit do everyone blithely benefit system and whine in the skirts of those fucking associations ... We do not want guys who under the pretext that they are of North African origin break, pillage, rape, burn, traffic dust, cars, weapons ... when they do not engage in terrorist groups and start training in Pakistan or elsewhere ...

They leave Quebec if they do not like: we do not accept. We're sick of seeing white, always white, killed for a cigarette refused, a wing crumpled, a neighbor dispute ... We're sick to see Palestinian flags at demonstrations or other in Montreal, and hear the protesters shouting anti-Semitic slogans and supporting the worst terrorist thugs in the Middle East.

We do not want mosques, imams paid by Algeria, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, who spend their time organizing the sectarianism fund terrorist groups, planning the destruction of our civilization, use overtly racist, antisemitic, anti-white, anti-Western, and play the "nice" properties incorporated.

We do not want pseudo "undocumented" crap coming into our churches and do not know that charging the rights that they do not pretend to do a hunger strike and get anything and what ... We do not want girls veiled at all street corners, schools, swimming pool, in the subway. We do not want school lunches that ban the pork not to disturb the poor Muslim students. We do not want kids who cry out to rewrite history courses in college because it does not please them we talking about the Holocaust ...

We're sick of the lies permanent mark on history, the church, slavery, colonization ... which serve only to demand ever more: more rights, more loot, more aid. We're sick of paying taxes for what became the Quebec ... We're sick to repentance to all the time for everything and its opposite. We do not want neighborhoods that are falling apart and the third mondise pace with the arrival of foreigners.

We do not want the anti-white racism, harassment, extortion, suspicious of markets on the pavement, laws not enforced, the ban on criticizing Islam, the associations' anti-racist. " We still have the right, right? So Islam is a religion may be super, cool, "world", new age and hip, but that's the truth: We don't want it! We do not want Islam and Arab-Muslim culture!

We do not want the Third Globalization Quebec! In terms of culture, civilization, values, religion, we already have the store, you see, and you do not want to change. Clear?

You got it man when you need a drawing? Anne Humphreys

Canada - They wanted to convert Native Americans to Islam and the Quebecers inciting genocide

The group of alleged terrorists arrested in Toronto in the summer of 2006 would have had the intention to convert the Quebec Native to Islam, to get them to kill all Quebecers to make the province to First Nations.

This was said the RCMP informant Mubin Shaikh trial of one of 11 defendants in this case. The 20 year old is accused of conspiracy, but it can not be named because of his age at the time of the facts alleged against him.

This allegation of murder conspiracy, even genocidal, against Quebecers is a new element in the case. All targets of the alleged terrorist group identified so far were located in Ontario and the group would have intended to hit the CN Tower, the CBC building, the headquarters of the RCMP and CSIS in Toronto the building of the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa and Pickering.

According to the informant Mubin Shaikh, the alleged leader of the group planned to convert Aboriginal people of Quebec to the Muslim religion, for they killed all Quebecers. The objective of this project would have been to Montreal, Quebec and the rest of the province with First Nations.

Mubin Shaikh said that the alleged conspiracy planned in Ontario and Quebec have been undertaken by importing weapons and bombs purchased from Tamil terrorists who have traveled through Mexico.

The alleged leader of the group had even considered buying a property in Opasatika in northern Ontario, to plan its operations and protect themselves against the forces of order in the event that the group was discovered.

Strategy Defense

The defense seeks to demonstrate that the alleged leader of the group was a visionary who had crazy ideas and who had neither the money nor arms, nor the fighters to carry out all these plots.

The cons-examination of Mubin Shaikh also reveals that the leader was penniless his group believe that the money would eventually come through fundraisers in the Muslim community. To hear the scale of plots incurred by the alleged leader, Mubin Shaikh admitted to the bar he did not know whether to laugh or shake the projects were so ridiculous and improbable. Only the alleged leader believed that his ideas were realistic, "said the witness.

Mubin Shaikh said that the suspected terrorists would be split into two groups because of deep disagreements over how to conduct a holy war in Canada.

The trial continues.

On the firing line, by Louis Prefontaine

"I'll make you lose your job." Another missed test by the child, another round of telephone threats from the mother. Tania scoop. Again. When teaching in classes for immigrants, we must know the only truly useful thing: the other is always right. Not you, not your country, not your safety rules, your secularism, your gender equality. No. While it takes the edge when you are dealing with a minority of fundamentalists who, like this fanatical denying the rules of his school, seeking to undermine the foundation of our rule of law while scurrying to make life unbearable to those who try to help.

Tania has taught one year at this elementary school northeast of town, specializes in the integration of newcomers. She could continue, but it was too difficult emotionally. Worse, he has shed his assessment with a score of zero to five levels of ethics and accusations of racism from the director and his assistant. Her crime? Wanting to teach geography to a child, having expressed his failures and his parents have asked her shoes running shoes during physical education.

"Toronto is in Lebanon, my dad told me, no no no you're a liar!" throwing the young veiled girl eleven years with his teacher in the middle class. Tania showed him the world map, he pointed Toronto, then Lebanon. "No, not in Lebanon, Toronto. Your father may have been mistaken." No, Tania, her father was right. Muslim Dad is always right. You should know. And so the next day he landed in your class, the lunch hour, violating the most elementary rules of the school, to insult you, call you a racist, and you t'invectiver threatening.

Shortly after that, a trip to Lebanon to eight weeks for the little girl. When she returned, she took a long delay, so that its results were not up to his classmates. Meeting with parents and the director. The diagnosis? No, the little one has no delay, no she has nothing to learn. It is you, Tania, the racist, nasty feminist who wants to learn the ideas of liberation of women to her child, so says a hysterical mother, a Canadian Halifax converted to the virtues of submission to the husband and soft body. The director asks you out, and nothing will ever be the same between you and him thereafter. His confidence, you had lost.

Months passed, with insults bi-weekly inexorably following each test, each failure of a girl who was taught that the world is what Papa-Muslim said he is. One day, the physical education teacher called Tania and told him about the child: "it does not remove his boots, because she said it was wrong that could see his ankles." Tania reassured the little girl told him that Allah does not punish, it was simply putting his running shoes and playing with his friends. She eventually convince her, but at what price? The next day she was again summoned to the principal's office, where she gets insulted again, where his own superior told her she should have accepted the girl involved in the activities below (even though this is extremely dangerous and contrary Regulation). Literally, he said: "between school rules and rules of the religion of man, what are the rules of religion gentleman who must prevail". And that's what happened thereafter, thank you to the repeated threats of prosecution from the sad individual.

How were you dictated returned with a large "X", Tania, because they were referring to Christmas or Easter? How many times have you had to adapt yourself just to survive here in your own country, where you should just be an example to newcomers?

At the end of the year, rather than having defended his professor, the director and his assistant, a Lebanese origin, decided to get rid of it as best they could. At the School of immigrants, Tania, yet she was the daughter of an Italian immigrant, had not understand the basic lesson: in Quebec, are immigrants who make the law and our rules do not apply that 'to those unfortunate enough to be white and French. The others, they released the insult of racism, they appeal to the virtues of multiculturalism, they call their lawyers, they are based on the Charter of Rights and Freedoms to impose their rights and freedoms.

Yet "there, there are so many nice people," says Tania. I think it's flat, because every time we talk about it with stories about completely stupid. The nice ladies who send you of baklava, that we do not remember." The problem, it is precisely there: nice people and bad people, confused, violent, psychotic, exist in every culture in every nation. In Quebec, however, just one of those fanatics are using ethnic status to which he immediately gives a semblance of credibility. If you're white and francophone and you act this way, we'll put you outside the school, call the police, call the DPJ, and take you to the position you pursue. If you come from elsewhere, we will let you make the name of multiculturalism, in the name of reasonable accommodation on behalf of the understanding.

Like it or not, it is a war. A fight between our values, our conceptions of space and public freedoms, and those unscrupulous individuals who believe they can use our openness against us, who sink our doors open and then occupy our homes. And in this war on this front, there are people like Tania, who, if she dropped the education of children, however, continues to learn our language and culture to immigrants and adults involved, by taking balls hate every day to improve our society and to promote greater cohesion in the respect of our common values. Tania is a heroine in her own way in the trenches of multiculturalism, the weapon of our carelessness in hand.

And so we finally decided to support it, respect those who, like her work to the integration of immigrants? If we finally said, loudly, that our values and our culture are not negotiable, as our law applies to everyone and we do not have to suffer the insults of those who refuse? If anyone dared to require newcomers to respect our institutions and those working to help them achieve in our house every day?

For if we do not at the level of integration by daring to impose our values, we will have to act in the number of immigrants to receive. And that's a different debate. Necessary, but oh how much more difficult to accept for the apostles of multiculturalism which has accumulated failures as Quebecers medals at the last Olympics. Until then, thank you Tanya, and good luck.

A Muslim expelled from a course because of niqab

Unlike the hijab, niqab covers the mouth. A teacher of Cegep St. Lawrence said that its port limited interaction skills of a student taking a course in French. This archive photo was taken in Egypt.

Vincent Marissal
La Presse

The Department of Immigration of Quebec was reached last November, to expel a French courses for immigrants a woman of Egyptian origin who refused to reveal his face in the classroom.

After months (February-November) attempts to accommodate the part of the teaching and direction of Cégep Saint-Laurent, the situation became tense may cause clashes within the institution.

According to what the press could learn a senior officer (Roger Giroux, CEO of francization the Immigration Department) intervened personally to ask for the umpteenth time, the lady to remove her niqab (which leaves appear as eyes), otherwise it would be expelled from the course. She refused, demanding a written confirmation from the Department's position, what she got.

In the letter, Mr. Giroux said that the reasons were clearly explained to students excluded that it could pursue its way with her niqab but it had plenty of time to complete the training online.

The lady has complained in the days before the Commission on Human Rights, who will study in the coming months.

The whole story began in February 2009 when the Egyptian immigrant was enrolled in a French course at CEGEP Saint-Laurent. She has the permanent resident status in Canada. To register, she provided a photograph of her face was uncovered and she met without niqab, the evaluator francisation services.

So far, so good. Problems arise however when the first courses because some men are in the class and she refuses to disclose in their presence.

Conciliatory, teacher supply, in agreement with the direction of the college, hide with her in a corner of the class to do exercises dialog. For these special sessions, the student agrees to withdraw her niqab.

An oral back

This arrangement is flawed, however, soon struck the very objectives of the course, which will facilitate exchanges between students, oral presentations and scenarios. In addition, the woman refuses to increasingly comply with the agreement with his teacher. The latter, along the direction of CEGEP Saint-Laurent, reminds him that for educational reasons, it is essential to see the faces of students in trade in order to correct their speech and to see their facial expressions.

At one time, we push the same accommodation to enable the student to make an oral statement at the bottom of the class back, because there are men in the room.

The relationship between Muslim students and a teacher, but also with the rest of the class gets tough on the edge of open conflict. We finally reached the point of no return when the lady, after a pause, asked three men to move because they face it in class, arranged in U by the teacher for precisely facilitate trade. The men and the teacher agree, but the situation became untenable and clearly we are heading towards a confrontation.

According to our sources, students veiled while systematically refusing to uncover her face, even alone with his teacher, and she shows more and more militant, even aggressive.

Therefore, the case "goes" to the department and even to the office of Immigration Minister Yolande James, who follows closely with its staff, its evolution.

The ultimatum and the expulsion of the student were decided at the political level, with the intervention of a senior official and the concurrence of the Minister James.

File politically explosive

Many Quebecers applaud the government's firmness on this issue, but politically and legally, the ground is slippery.

At the time, in several European countries, a debate rages on religious symbols, especially the veil (hijab, niqab or burqa), Quebec intervenes for the first time in a classroom. Two similar cases have arisen recently in French classes for immigrants at Cégep de Sainte-Foy, but both students were bent to the demands of the course.

Compete by the principles of secularism and equality between men and women, pillars of the policy of the Quebec government, and freedom of religious practice, recognized by the Quebec and Canadian charters. This is a crucial test for the government and the first strong political reaction from the Bouchard-Taylor commission.

In Quebec, it thus follows the case closely. Our sources say the government is hopeful of winning its case before the Commission on Human Rights.

"We believe having done everything reasonable to accommodate this person, but there is a limit, and we have taken here. For us, it is important to send a clear message", said an informant close to the case.

In his complaint to the Commission on Human Rights, students veiled invokes freedom of religious practice. The government, for its part, says that wearing the niqab is incompatible with the educational goals and that many attempts have failed a reasonable accommodation.

Quebec also remember that all immigrants are engaged in writing for the month of January 2009 to respect Quebec values (including gender), they are learning about these common values and they must learn French.

If they are unwilling or unable to follow these courses in person, newcomers can do online, and all information on common values is explained in several languages, including Arabic, on the ministry website Immigration.

Conciliation or hardline?

This is not the political decision that is subject to a test with this case, but also throughout the approach established by the Charest government in the wake of the report of the Bouchard-Taylor commission.

According to all recent polls on the issue of reasonable accommodation, the majority of Quebecers think their government shows usually too conciliatory.

In recent years, highly publicized cases, the SAAQ particular have fueled the controversy and ignited the open-line programming.

In government, as the debate rages between proponents of conciliation and the supporters of hard-line debate spiced by the positions of opposition parties.

It is unlikely that the government legislates on wearing religious symbols. Legal advice circulating in some state departments are, however, communication problems and security-related wear the niqab and burqa.

Another known case is currently before the Commission on Human Rights. Sondos Abdelatif, a Muslim girl who was training to become a prison warden, filed a complaint in 2007 after being dismissed by Correctional Services of Quebec because she refused to remove her hijab.

She advocates freedom of religious practice while his former employer says that wearing the headscarf poses risks to the security guard.

Attempt to Break New Irish Blasphemy Law, by Francis Chartrand

Last Friday morning in Ireland, about 30 minutes after a new law took effect with the new year that makes blasphemy a crime punishable by a fine of up to $35,000, a group of Irish atheists invited the government to prosecute them by publishing 25 blasphemous statements on an Irish Web site.

As The Lede explained last July — when the bill was signed by Ireland’s president, Mary McAleese — even though Ireland’s Constitution calls blasphemy a criminal act, the police force had no legal means to prosecute blasphemers.

According to the updated Irish Statute Book, the criminal blasphemer is defined as someone who “publishes or utters matter that is grossly abusive or insulting in relation to matters held sacred by any religion, thereby causing outrage among a substantial number of the adherents of that religion, and … intends, by the publication or utterance of the matter concerned, to cause such outrage.”

On the Web site Blasphemy.ie, Michael Nugent, a writer and co-founder of Atheist Ireland, wrote that his group was trying hard to break the new law because it is “both silly and dangerous.” Mr. Nugent explained:

It is silly because medieval religious laws have no place in a modern secular republic, where the criminal law should protect people and not ideas. And it is dangerous because it incentives religious outrage, and because Islamic states led by Pakistan are already using the wording of this Irish law to promote new blasphemy laws at U.N. level.

Given that the law explicitly states that the intention of the blasphemer has to be to cause outrage, it is not clear if the Irish atheists have really succeeded in breaking it. The 25 statements published on Blasphemy.ie are largely inoffensive quotes from people like Jesus, Mark Twain and a fictional character in Monty Python’s “Life of Brian” that are unlikely to ever fill the streets of Dublin with enraged protesters.

What makes the Irish group’s attempt to break the law seem particularly tame is that it came on the same day last week that an axe-wielding man in Denmark tried to attack a cartoonist who offended millions of Muslims by publishing a drawing thought to show the Prophet Muhammad with a bomb in his turban. Say what you will about the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, which intentionally published 12 cartoons mocking Islam in 2005, but that publication certainly showed how to cause the kind of outrage described in Ireland’s new law.

If the Irish atheists had wanted to make sure that they were breaking Ireland’s new law, they could simply have republished those cartoons, as the blogger Andrew Sullivan did last week in response to the attack on the cartoonist.

Indeed, some observers in Ireland, noting that the country’s Christian leaders made no public request for the legal prohibition on blasphemy to be made enforceable, have guessed that the government may have been acting mainly to restrain any Irish publisher from following the lead of the conservative Danish paper in offending Muslim sensibilities. David Quinn, a former editor of a Catholic newspaper in Ireland, told NPR that the new Irish law may have been introduced not to placate Ireland’s Christian majority, but because “there was a fear that we might get a Danish cartoon-style controversy in Ireland — that some newspaper might publish something that Muslims found highly offensive — and it might have repercussions for Irish trade in the Muslim world.”

Detroit terror attack: A murderous ideology tolerated for too long, by Noémie Cournoyer

Friday's attempt to blow up a transatlantic airliner by a British-educated Islamist was foiled by the bravery of its passengers and crew. We cannot assume that we will be lucky next time. And the indications are that there will be a next time.

According to police sources, 25 British-born Muslims are currently in Yemen being trained in the art of bombing planes. But most of these terrorists did not acquire their crazed beliefs in the Islamic world: they were indoctrinated in Britain. Indeed, thousands of young British Muslims support the use of violence to further the Islamist cause – and this despite millions of pounds poured by the Government into projects designed to prevent Islamic extremism.

Is it time for a fundamental rethink of Britain's attitude towards domestic Islamism? Consider this analogy. Suppose that, in several London universities, Right‑wing student societies were allowed to invite neo-Nazi speakers to address teenagers. Meanwhile, churches in poor white neighbourhoods handed over their pulpits to Jew-hating admirers of Adolf Hitler, called for the execution of homosexuals, preached the intellectual inferiority of women, and blessed the murder of civilians. What would the Government do? It would bring the full might of the criminal law against activists indoctrinating young Britons with an inhuman Nazi ideology – and the authorities that let them. Any public servants complicit in this evil would be hounded from their jobs.

Jihadist Islamism is also a murderous ideology, comparable to Nazism in many respects. The British public realises this; so do the intelligence services. Yet because it arises out of a worldwide religion – most of whose followers are peaceful – politicians and the public sector shrink from treating its ideologues as criminal supporters of violence. Instead, the Government throws vast sums of money at the Muslim community in order to ensure that what is effectively a civil war between extremists and moderates is won by the latter. This policy – supported by all the main political parties – does not seem to be working. The authorities, lacking specialist knowledge, sometimes turn for advice to "moderate" Muslims who have extreme sympathies; supporters of al-Qaeda are paid to disseminate their ideology to young people.

Radical Islamist leaders are not stupid: they know how to play this system. The indoctrination of students carries on under the noses of public servants who are terrified of being labelled Islamophobic or racist. Therefore they fail to do their duty, which is to protect Muslims and non-Muslims alike from a terrorist ideology. If providing that protection requires fewer "consultations" with "community leaders" and more arrests, then so be it.

Canada is hosting an organization that glorifies jihad and recruiting for terrorist organizations, by Iba Bouramine

All these years of cultural relativism, of accommodation and political correctness on radical Islam Canadian bear fruit. By dint of imagining that all the radicals are equal, we focus on the wrong targets. Radical Islam is rising and we do not even need to look to find them, they appear! One of the most radical movements of the Islamic world, Hizb ut-Tahrir has just moved openly in Canada. This movement is a kind of conduit for organizations like al Qaeda. He plays the role of agency recruitment and training for organizations Terros which themselves apply jihad in its most violent and also seeks, among other things, terrorism to advance the cause. For decades the Hizb ut-Tahrir acted secretly in the United States, organizing meetings and conferences under the name of organizations-screens. But things have changed. He became more rebellious and do more cache to spread its ideas in North America.

Hizb ut-Tahrir is an international movement which has the goal of restoring an Islamic state or caliphate-world - which encourages Muslims to support jihad. Its particularity is to provide resources to terrorism. The movement recruited and indoctrinated individuals unstable then we find in organizations 'act' like al-Qaida. One of these former members is Kahlid Sheikh Mohammad, an organizer of the attacks of September 11. There was also Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, leader of al-Qaida in Iraq, Hambali, head of Jemaa Islamiya terrorist group and Asif Muhammad Hanif and Omar Khan Sharif recruited by Hamas to carry out attacks in Tel Aviv.

Hizb ut-Tahrir was founded in 1952 by Sheikh Yaqiuddin Al-Nabhan, a man whose worldview was shaped by the Muslim Brotherhood, but found that the Brotherhood had become too moderate! After participating in the coup that failed in Egypt and Jordan, the Hizb ut-Tahrir was considered so radical it was banned throughout the Middle East. He then moved to Europe and after the fall of communism, it has spread in Central Asia.

It is difficult to estimate the number of its members. He certainly has grown since the attacks of September 11, said Madeleine Gruen, a principal analyst for the NEFA Foundation. In 2003 it was estimated that the movement had ten to one hundred thousand members worldwide. Today, this movement, active in forty countries, nearly one hundred thousand members not only in Indonesia and "several hundreds of thousands" in the world, according to Mrs. Gruen.

In the U.S., Hizb ut-Tahrir were hundreds of members. His ideology is a mixture of orthodox Islam, Marxism-Leninism, anti-Semitism and opposition to liberal democracies. Even if it arises in non-violent movement, the Hizb ut-Tahrir advocates, "the same vision and goals that al-Qaida," according to experts like Madeleine Gruen observes that the Hizb ut-Tahrir expands recruitment activities on a much broader basis.

Even if he does not organize terrorist acts, Hizb ut-Tahrir glorifies jihad and accuses of terrorist organizations like Hamas do not be so hard on Israel. In a brochure posted on its website July 1, the organization said that if the caliphate there, all of Palestine "would be cleared of occupants Jews" and brought "into the fold of the Islamic state."

HTA is also obsessed with the alleged nefarious U.S., President Obama and the capitalist system. This can be seen casting a glance at the titles of articles posted on its website.

The spokesman of Hizb ut-Tahrir emphasize that their organization is not engaged in terrorist activities and affirmed that the United States and Paskistan want to delete because they fear his fight for justice for Muslims .

Bullshit meet the criticisms. "Freedom and justice sought by hypertension can be achieved by violence, as it is to overthrow democracies." This was particularly backed the director of Center for Eurasian Policy Hudson Institute. Zeyno Baran.

Testifying before a Senate committee, Baran said: "It is unlikely that the Hisz ut-Tahrir is involved in terrorism. The terrorist action is not part of its mission. But this movement serves as training camps ideological and political Islamists. I have described as "a conveyor belt to terrorism".

We must stop the islamists of indoctrinate youth, by Francis Chartrand

Karl von Clausewitz, one of the major theorists of war wrote: "The purpose of all war must be to establish a better situation before the outbreak of hostilities." After a decade of struggle against international terrorism, how can we know if the situation improved?

We could take to measure the frequency of terrorist attacks. Since early 2009, more than 7,500 people were killed in bombings 5.000 on 4 continents. It is much better than last year where over 15,000 people have died in more than 11,000 attacks. Osama bin Laden and his organization al-Qaeda have been unable to organize attacks comparable in importance to those of 11 September against the towers of the World Trade Center. And they have not managed to get their hands on a nuclear weapon. Can we conclude that terrorism has become a less urgent threat and that the situation has improved since hostilities began? The public in Australia think it. A survey of Autralian Strategic Policy Institute conducted last year showed that terrorism had fallen to 13th among the 14 major concerns in the 2007 elections. Two thirds of Australians believe that the terrorist threat is part of everyday life. Climate change is regarded as the new terrorism.

But when asked if the Australian government did everything it could to prevent a terrorist attack, the voter response was unequivocal. Only 50% thought the government controlled the situation. Although nearly 10 billion dollars have been spent since 2001 to improve security measures, 41% of voters said that the government could do better. Because there has been no serious attacks in Australia since the explosion of a bomb at the Sydney Hotel in 1978, some believe that the threat is so low that it could now spend less money national security.

Resources are limited and as there are many other concerns such as cyber crime or organized, it begins to say it would be better to give less importance to the terrorist threat. This is not what I think. The real danger is complacency about the nature and extent of threat nourished by religious ideology.

As stated recently Peter Clark of the British police: "The terrorist threat is of such magnitude and so intractable that we should not just be content to chase those planning attacks. We must find a way to attack the ideas that motivate them to do so."

The number of terrorists in the world may be decreased, but the ideology that fuels international terrorism continues to seduce the minds of Somalia to the southern Philippines. And children are increasingly the target of this ideological indoctrination. In Indonesia, the radical group Hizb ut-Tahrir is particularly interested in schools, providing books for teens that encourages them to overthrow the secular democracy and replace it with Islamic law (Sharia) and a caliphate.

While such organizations are careful not to openly promote violence, the link between propaganda, radicalization of minds and terrorism is well established.

And the Internet helps to spread the message of extremists. Hizb ut-Tahrir has launched a website that competes with major international channels of information. Teenagers are the largest users of the Internet and social networking sites provide interactive terrorist groups new opportunities for recruitment and radicalization of minds.

Not surprisingly, a Somali terrorist organization is called al-Shabaad (Youth)

To achieve their goals, the ideologues are constantly finding new recruits. So they're training a new generation of terrorists, the international community seems unable to respond in a coherent and strategic.

Until now, the war against terrorism has been shared between 95% of military intervention and 5% of anti-ideological. This must change, because it is winning the ideological war that we may determine whether we succeeded or failed to stop this wave of religious terrorism.

The Holocaust and the masculinist, by Richard Martineau

Richard Martineau
Journal de Montréal
09/12/2009 06h52

Last Sunday, I told you that I do not understand why some groups of men portray Marc Lepine as a poor victim of evil feminists.

"That masculinist groups campaigning to get more grants to help people in distress is something I wrote. But to pity the fate of a lunatic who killed 14 women, there is a margin.

"The men can go do they not realize they shooting themselves in the foot by taking such a speech? They completely discredit their cause?"

IN DEFENSE OF MONSTER

This column brought me a nice email the group L'Après-rupture :

"Mr. Martineau, the team of L'Après-rupture like to thank you for your review. In most of us know, you send our message widely Inconvenient received ideas, thinking only about Polytechnique.

"Marc Lepine is a monster created by the radical feminist movement, a monster that this movement has recovered to better enrich themselves with money from citizens. We hope that before long, you can write on charges relating to possible criminal activities of certain feminist organizations ..."

You find this point of view twisted? Wait, you have not read anything ...

ILSA, SHE-WOLF OF THE SS

In the male domination, a documentary on radical masculinist Quebec filmed by Belgian director Jean Patrick, we say things even more twisted:

"Quebec is the opposite of the Taliban. The Taliban was the oppression against women. The Quebec, oppression against men ... "

"Feminism is a crime against humanity ..."

"We saw just as in Nazi Germany. And this is no more subtle than in Nazi Germany ..."

Well yes, my friends, men living in Quebec the same ordeal combined experience of European Jews in the 1940s.

This is EXACTLY the same!

Hordes of women dressed in pink patrol the streets of Limoilou and set fire to the tavern, they organize raids in Cages aux sports in the province, forcing men to wear a small brown penis in their buttonholes and send them to end their days in sexual reeducation camps run by bloodthirsty lesbians who make necklaces testicles and handbags scrotal skin.

TALIBAN, PQ

And just like Afghanistan under the Taliban, Quebec males are not allowed to attend school, can not go out into the street without being accompanied by their mother or their sister and are stoned 's they do not wear a hood in midsummer.

One wonders why American GIs do not organize a landing at Dolbeau to free us!

Swiss rolled, by Richard Martineau

Richard Martineau
Journal de Montréal
02/12/2009 06h54

After a controversial referendum, the Swiss have decided to ban construction of minarets. Personally, I think it's a bad way to fight against Islamism.

Banning the burqa? I would support this proposal without hesitation. Prohibit the wearing of headscarves in girls? 100% agree.

Denounce unreasonable accommodations that allow religious fundamentalists to practice gender segregation? Of course. Rage against the radical imams who preach hatred in their mosques? Certainly. And firmly.

But banning minarets, the aim is not political Islam. It would take religion at full strength, it is served to all Muslims that they will not know anything about them.

TWO TYPES OF VICTIMS

In my opinion, those who criticize the choice of Swiss are right to be indignant.

That said ... There are 1.5 million Christians in Saudi Arabia. Not only are these Christians have no right to build towers, but they were not even allowed to build churches and pray in public!

ANY non-Muslim religious practice is allowed in public in Saudi Arabia, and Catholic priests are routinely harassed or jailed.

Now, you read editorials denouncing racism, xenophobia and intolerance of the Saudis?

No.

Yet the religious persecution during which there is much worse than what is currently happening in Switzerland!

TURN THE OTHER CHEEK

Amazing how the West is quick to criticize but slow to condemn the atrocities committed by the other regions of the globe.

When it comes time to self-flagellation, we're here! But when it comes to attacking the racism and intolerance of others, we lower our eyes and turn away their eyes.

To punish the Swiss have voted Yes in the referendum antiminarets some Muslim businessmen threaten to boycott products from Switzerland and withdraw their assets in the country.

Christians around the world have they wielded such economic threat to the Saudis? No, on the contrary, it has never done much business with them! They are our allies, our partners!

That's the main difference between Muslims and Christians.

When they receive a slap, Muslims replicate. While Christians ask forgiveness and offer the other cheek ...

RADIO SILENCE

Currently, journalists and political analysts SWISS publish open letters in SWISS newspapers to criticize the referendum result SWITZERLAND.

They climbed the barricades to defend the religious freedom of their fellow Muslims.

They are where the Saudi Muslims who defend the rights of Christians persecuted in their country?

Nowhere.

What happened in Switzerland may be distressing. But there was a vote. A referendum. A democratic process. People have been entitled to the chapter, they were able to discuss, share, discuss.

While in most Muslim countries, democracy is a dead letter.

Intolerance, daily. And silent accomplice.

A VIEW OF THE SPIRIT?

A word on language, in conclusion.

Recently, in La Presse, André Pratte wrote that the erosion of French in Montreal is a figment of the imagination.

I do not know where is Mr. Pratte, but I invite him to follow me for a week. Almost everyday, I stumble to Anglophones who totally fuck with my language.

I'll give examples in the coming days. Story to show you that Mr. Pratte is taking his ideas to reality.

When the police curve back (2), by Richard Martineau

Richard Martineau
Journal de Montréal
18/11/2009 06h43

Yesterday I told you the story of the police chief of Windsor who had to publicly apologize to the Muslim community in Ontario because one of its agents had searched the wife of a radical Islamist wanted by the FBI during a police operation.

This column brought me several reactions, including an email from a policeman SPVM.

WHAT "DAMAGE"?

"I have been accused in police ethics for speaking with the wife of a Muslim, told me the agent who wishes to preserve his anonymity.

"The man wanted to talk to me after an intervention that had involved earlier in the day. He phoned the station and asked what my partner and I were going to meet with him.

"It was presented at the time requested, but the man was not present. His wife told us. The lady was hesitant, talkative and somewhat unaware of the situation. We were courteous to her, and we recorded this event in our report.

"A few months later, we received a letter from the Commissioner of Police Ethics accusing me of abusing my power over the woman in question. Although no complaint was made against me and my partner, the police of Montreal still has apologized to the lady for the "damage" caused for this "unfortunate" incident ...

"The worst is that I have never met or consulted about this complaint. However, the police apologized on my behalf because I did my job!"

INTIMIDATION

Every time I tell stories of accommodations, I get emails accusing me of racism and xenophobia.

It's an old trick: we leave the word "racist" when someone dares to criticize the religious extremists in the hope that someone will take his hole and close the mouth.

I have bad news for you, boys: it does not work with me. If it worked, it's been a long time that I should write more, the number of emails I get insulted every day.

In fact, I would say that it has the opposite effect. The more you attack me, the more I want to write on the subject.

I'm not eating meat for eight months, I still kept my head pig.

BAD PUGLIA!

A few days ago, I said I did not understand why the police gave tickets to young people who make the squeegee.

This earned me several emails from people screaming against "that damned lousy who ask for money".

A man wrote me that her son was beaten up by the homeless. I understand his anger. But when I was young, I got beaten up by some Englishmen. Does it mean that all Englishmen are savages? Of course not.

Just as Muslims are not all Islamists. Remember the documentary of Paul Arcand, Les voleurs d'enfance? Arcand was walking in a park frequented by homeless and asked the young people present who were awarded by host families.

The vast majority raised their hands.

Contrary to what some people think, young people living on the street are not rich kids who are poor.

These are often young skinned alive. And they should be disgusted because they ask for money?

When the police curve back, by Richard Martineau

Richard Martineau
Journal de Montréal
17/11/2009 06h46

Like the stories of accommodation? You'll love it.

On 31 October, at the request of the RCMP and the FBI, police in Windsor, Ontario, have arrested two Islamist radicals who are suspected of having links with an extremist group of Detroit: Mohammad Al-Sahli, 33, and Yassir Ali Khan, 30.

PUBLIC APOLOGY

During this operation, a police officer searched the wife of Ali Khan.

However, this kind of contact between a man and a woman is considered highly inappropriate by Muslims. As explained by counsel for Ms. Khan, "Muslims have no right to have physical contact with a man who is not part of their family. If a Muslim woman must be searched during a police operation, it must be searched by a policewoman, not by a policeman."

Result: Members of the Muslim community have asked the Ontario Police Chief Windsor public apology.

What did the chief? Has he defended his troops? Has he said the imams of the municipality that was not there to meet religious regulations archaic, but to make arrests and to protect public safety?

No. He held a press conference and presented his most sincere apologies to the Muslim community.

"Next time, he said, we will arrange for a properly trained officer may be present during such operations ..."

AWARENESS WORKSHOPS

You coat the compromises that have been granted by the SAAQ?

This is nothing compared to what is happening in Ontario.

For now on, the Muslims of Windsor wanted by the police can choose the sex of the officer who searches, arrest them and handcuffed.

In 2007, the Windsor Police have been entitled to "workshops to raise awareness of cultural difference" to know how to stop people from different religions. When these "workshops", the police were able to discuss with representatives of 12 different communities.

"But this has clearly not been enough," said Chief of Police in Windsor. We will organize other workshops of its kind ... "

One of these "workshops" will be moderated by a member of the Islamic Association of Windsor.

HIDE THE MEN!

Do you know what we should do? We should withdraw all men schools, CPE, gyms, public service and police stations. That way, the Muslim women would not be bothered sexually.

They are assured of always falling on a woman when they are dealing with these services.

We would move the guys in the basement and we would ask them to open envelopes or sorting mail.

THE NOSE HAIR

Here, while we're on the subject of burlesque accommodations, I have a good, alleging the magazine Courrier International:

"There are about ten years, a debate triggered by a rabbi concluded that we could pick his nose during the Sabbath. The discussion had focused on the fact that in the context of this activity, it could happen that one tore the hairs of the nose or it is forbidden to cut hair and hair on the Sabbath ... "

"Another rabbi proclaimed that Jews could not wear Crocs shoes for the day of Atonement, because they were too comfortable on this day of fasting and meditation ..."

This is not great?
